Laura Simpson has been playing the bagpipes for twenty-nine years, starting at the young age of seven she has played at some incredible events in the UK and across the world. A many-time competition winner, she is also a pipe major and has led the pipes and drums of The City Of York Pipe Band for eleven years.
Laura’s most memorable gigs include playing on stage with Rod Stewart, playing for Sir Richard Branson here in Yorkshire, and opening a show for Eddie Reader in Barbados in which Riverdance also played a part.
Outside of those gigs, Laura has played at many weddings, events, funerals, fayres, concerts at care homes, Burns Nights, birthday parties, ceremonies and more over the years and they make her smile most of all.
Bringing a wonderful touch to any event, and a warm personality to boot, Laura brings a huge talent and experience to any occasion.
Playing a wide range of tunes including slow airs, marches, hymns, jigs, well-known favourites and more. Laura often gets specific requests and is open to looking at anything you may require.
